Video: Would You Buy a Ford Mustang from Mr. Ed?

Technology has grown tremendously in the last few years, making car commercials much more appealing with catchy music and crazy graphics. Things have taken a new turn just with the mounted GoPro cameras. Well, back in the day such things weren?t so readily available, leaving us with little gems such as this SVT Mustang ad from the 90?s.

This commercial definitely has it?s fair share of ?cheesy?, that?s for sure. Mr. Ed, although more of a Palomino than a Mustang, looks more than happy to get those 90?s kids into a V8 Mustang. It seems like sales pitches such as this did work, considering the ?Stang has kept on truckin? through the years without any halts in production.

It may not have been the commercial, but the SN-95 Mustang Cobra did put down 305 horsepower out of it?s 4.6L V8 engine. That may not be impressive by today?s standards considering that the brand new V6 Mustang is capable of just as much power with ridiculously impressive gas mileage at 30-plus miles per gallon. However, that amount of horsepower under the hood was still pretty darn good for being a couple decades old, and we can?t say that we?d turn down a Cobra if given one. However, we don?t think Ford Motor Company needed a talking horse to actually sell any Mustangs. Watching the then-brand-new car drive through the hills was probably good enough to get those 90?s kids, and adults, lined up to buy one of their own.

Just think, one day the current television commercials will become just as corny to the next generation.
