Schools, emergency managers tracking Isaac as it eyes Florida

School districts across Central Florida are preparing for possible problems caused by Tropical Storm Isaac.

As of Friday, Aug. 24, no districts in Central Florida have plans to cancel classes. However, some schools have posted some preliminary information.

Brevard County Schools -- No changes, but the district said it is in constant touch with the county Emergency Operations Center.

Brevard County Emergency Management -- Tracking Isaac, will make a decision as the storm moves above Cuba.

Flagler County Schools -- All schools are standing by, district leaders said.

Osceola County

Osceola County Schools -- Extracurricular activities are cancelled for Monday. Parents will receive a phone call from the schools automated system about any changes to the regular school schedule.

Osceola County Emergency Management -- Tracking Isaac, meeting with staff and will start making sand bags available at 7 locations:

- St. Cloud, 3850 Old Canoe Creek Road, Osceola County Road and Bridge.

- Kissimmee, 1698 S Hoagland Blvd, Osceola County Road and Bridge.

- Buenventura Lakes, Robert Guevara Park, Community Center, 501 Florida Pkwy.

- Poinciana Library, 101 N. Dover Plum in the Parking Lot. ?

- Holopaw Community Center, 8801 Community Center Road.

- Kenansville Community Center, 1178 S. Canoe Creek Road.

- New Celebration Library Property, 305 Campus Street.

Sand bags available from noon ? 5 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. ? 5 p.m. from Sunday through the remainder of the storm, or until supplies run out.
