Glastonbury Police Make Arrest In Home Improvement Scam ...

GLASTONBURY?

Police on Thursday arrested a New York man who they say was involved in a home improvement scam.

Keith A. Ballard, 44, of North Granville was arrested on a warrant charging him with third-degree larceny and offering a home improvement service, police said.

He posted $30,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Manchester Jan. 30.

Police said Ballard accepted payment for repairs to a metal barn roof, but he didn't do the work.

He also didn't provide the materials needed to get the job done, police said. The barn was damaged during Tropical Storm Irene.

In addition, Ballard was operating without a valid, Connecticut home improvement license, they said.
