Stockholm University hereby invites applications for a position as Senior Lecturer in Computer and Systems Sciences, with a specialisation in data mining, Department of Computer and Systems Sciences.

Topic Description
The field of data mining concerns the study of methods and techniques for analysis of large data sets to support decision making through descriptive or predictive models. The current position focuses in particular on development, implementation and application of algorithms and software for data mining.

Job Description
The senior lecturer should conduct research, teaching and supervision at the department. This includes conducting own research and actively contributing to applying for external research funding. The senior lecturer should participate in course development, teaching and examination within the educational programs at the department on basic and advanced levels.

Qualification requirements
Qualified to be employed as a senior lecturer is a person who has been awarded a PhD within computer and systems sciences, or has the corresponding research competence and has demonstrated teaching expertise. Teaching expertise should be demonstrated through teaching experience on both first and second cycle education. The teaching expertise is to be well-documented in a manner which makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities. The position also requires considerable proven experience in both teaching and research in data mining.

The applicant must have the ability to cooperate as well as the ability and suitability otherwise needed to perform duties well.
